What is Energy Medicine
Energy Medicine can be simply classified into three major types:
- Objective Energy Medicine - Energy that can be measured
This type employs mechanical vibrations (such as sound) and electromagnetic forces, including visible light, magnetism, monochromatic radiation (such as laser beams), and rays from other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum (see below). This type of Energy Medicine involves the use of specific, measurable wavelengths and frequencies to treat patients.

- Subjective Energy Medicine - Energy which has yet to be directly measured
Therapies involving this type of energy fields are based on the concept that human beings are infused with a subtle form of energy. This vital energy or life force is known under different names in different cultures, such as qi in traditional Chinese medicine, the vital energy or life force proposed to regulate a person's spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical health and to be influenced by the opposing forces of yin and yang in traditional Chinese medicine.
It is based on the concept that disease results from disruption in the flow of energy (qi) and imbalance in the forces of the polarity of this energy (yin and yang.) Practices such as herbal medicine, meditation, therapeutic touch, and acupuncture seek to aid healing by restoring the energy balance and the flow of this energy. This energy is referred to as qi in Chinese Medicine, ki in the Japanese system and Prana in Ayurvedic medicine.

This type of Energy Medicine aims to integrate the body, mind, and spirit to prevent and treat disease. Therapies used include herbs massage, and yoga, and elsewhere as prana, etheric energy, fohat, orgone, odic force, mana, and homeopathic resonance.
Vital energy is believed to flow throughout the material human body, but it has not been unequivocally measured by means of conventional instrumentation. Nonetheless, therapists claim that they can work with this subtle energy, see it with their own eyes, and use it to effect changes in the physical body and influence health.
- Bioenergetics and Informational Medicine.
This branch of Energy Medicines broadly falls under the titles of Bioenergetic Medicine and Informational Medicine. Their roots come from homeopathy, bioresonace and radionics and this field has grown and diversified greatly over the last few decades.

This area of Energy Medicine has incorporated both objective energy medicine - eg. light, sound and bio-resonance and subjective energy medicine - eg. Informational Medicine. It is bringing a new dimension and tool to the world of Energy Medicine that is fast gathering interest and support.
